What causes bloating and indigestion in the first place?

When you eat, your stomach releases a hormone called ghrelin, which stimulates hunger and speeds up digestion. When you feel full, ghrelin secretion slows down and stops. This means that people who eat a lot of food at one time have a lot of ghrelin being released at once.
